At GDC this week the long-awaited PlayStation VR finally got a price and a release date. Priced at £349.99 and releasing this October, the PSVR is significantly cheaper than the other PC-based competitors that are also set to release later this year. PSVR is going to be big in that it will be the only console-based virtual reality system, and the pricing means that they will probably sell like hotcakes - Amazon has already sold out of pre-orders.

Along with the announcement of price and the release date, it was also confirmed that there are a whopping 230 different studios working on PSVR - and some of these studios are quite surprising. There are also a wide array of games that have been confirmed to be in development that'll feature PSVR compatibility in some form or another.

With so many games coming to PSVR, it wouldn't be amiss for you to be wondering where to start, or what games look the best. Wonder no more, because we've put together a long list that includes most (if not all) of the games coming, along with a few that we are really looking forward to (and we even throw in a bit of wild speculation at the end for good measure).

100ft Robot Golf - A quirky looking golf game where you play as giant robots, and the entire city is your golf course. Don't expect to swinging and putting the whole time, as you'll destroy giant cities and getting into brawls with other robots in the process.

Ace Combat 7 - A spectacular looking flying game that hopefully will give us some intense dogfights and aerial combat. Bandai Namco are once again supporting a new PlayStation venture and their latest aerial combat offering could prove to be spectacular.

Adrift - Developed by 505 games, Adrift seems like one of the many survival games that have been floating around in recent years, with the key difference being that this one is set in space (so expect literal floating). It will definitely make for an interesting experience having to juggle oxygen with the other essentials needed for survival. You like the movie Gravity? Keep your eyes on this one.

Albino Lullaby - This game has been out for some time on PC, and it's a puzzle horror game with a Tim Burton-esque art style that is bound to throw you off. Your path will keep on changing, and to get around you must make use of the constantly shifting environment.

Allison Road - Allison Road is a survival horror game set in a small British town house, where players will face off against a myriad of unnatural occurrences, one of which is in the form of a ghostly-looking girl who's after your blood. The fact that the game is to be compatible with PlayStation VR is also something to be excited about as, from what we've seen, the game will be bone-chillingly creepy and realistic looking. The spirit of P.T. lives on in this horror-filled title.

HQ

Apollo 11 VR Experience - Space is one of the dominant themes in many of the VR games coming out soon, and the main objective of the Apollo 11 VR Experience is to showcase the events that led the first men to land and walk on the moon. It looks like it could be very special, and it will no doubt be visually amazing.

Ark: Survival Evolved - Already an immensely popular game on both PC and Xbox One, this Early Access survival game is all about staying alive in a world of dinosaurs, and it gives you the ability to tame and ride them. This could definitely be one of the more popular PSVR games.

Atom Universe - This is a game set in a virtual theme park, and when it is fully released you should expect to be able to socialise with your friends and make use of the theme park's many attractions.

Battlezone - This could very well be one of the more exciting games available for PSVR. Developed by Rebellion, known for the Sniper Elite series, this re-imagining of a video game classic is all about blowing things up in tanks and other similar vehicles, and thanks to randomised campaigns no two play-throughs will ever be exactly the same.

HQ

Chernobyl VR Project - Similarly to the Apollo 11 VR experience, the Chernobyl VR Project is intended to be a visual trip, taking players on a tour of Chernobyl, the abandoned city that fell victim to a nuclear disaster in 1986.

Classroom Aquatic - An odd game to say the least, Classroom Aquatic is a stealth game where you play as a member of a class full of dolphins. In this classroom you must try your best to copy the answers to a test from other dolphins without getting caught.

Crystal Rift - Crystal Rift is a dungeon crawler that has been primarily built around VR, and the player will need to work their way through a series of different dungeons to get to the end. It should also eventually have a feature allowing you to create and share your own dungeons, allowing you to come up with nefarious traps.

Cult County - This first-person horror game is set in a backwater American desert town, and takes inspiration from series like Telltale's The Walking Dead, Silent Hill and Resident Evil.

Cyber Danganronpa - The VR iteration in the popular Danganronpa series sees players taking on class trials from the first two games, where they must work out who committed a murder amongst a group of students.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 - Known for its excessively fan-servicey nature, players will now be able to play volleyball with scantily-clad women in a more realistic fashion than ever. Given that this one isn't getting a western release for obvious reasons, there's every chance that the VR version won't make it over here either (but, you never know).

HQ

Dead Secret - This creepy mystery game will test every player's investigative skills as they attempt to solve the murder of Harris Bullard, all before they become the killer's next victim.

Desert Bus 2.0 - The infamous driving game from 1995 is getting a PSVR remake, which will presumably see us racing around the desert in... well... a bus. As long as we don't have to keep it over 50MPH...

Disco Flux - This rhythm shooter allows players to import their own music, and the game will create a level around said music for them. It features neon visuals and built-in disco music for you to enjoy.

Distance - An arcade racer, Distance sees the player driving through wacky levels and comes with a level designer for you to create and share custom tracks.

Dreams - A beautifully trippy looking game with lots of different visual themes from the LittleBigPlanet devs, we're waiting to see what this game will be like when it's out, but given the studio at the helm of this particular project, you can bet that it will be overflowing with innovation. Hopefully sculpting characters and worlds in VR will enhance the experience even further.

HQ

Dynasty Warriors 8 VR - The immensely popular hack-and-slash Dynasty Warriors series is getting its own game with VR features that will definitely give the player a spectacular experience taking down armies single-handedly.

Eagle Flight - One of Ubisoft's forays into the VR world sees the player flying around an abandoned Paris as an eagle, and promises to immerse the player in the beautifully designed world.

The Easel - A very cool and innovative-looking painting game that gives you a blank canvas, and uses the PS Move as a brush.

Earthlight - Another space-themed game. Opaque Media Group is working in consultation with space agencies all over the world to give players an authentic experience of the wonders and perils of space.

Eclipse - Eclipse is a prettily designed exploration game, and players will need to solve a number of puzzles to advance in the world.

Everest VR - This game allows players to explore Mount Everest without the dangers of actually exploring Mount Everest, and it looks like it could be a beautiful experience.

Eve: Valkyrie - CCP's space shooter promises intense team-based multiplayer battles and super realistic dogfighting. With the PS4's graphical capabilities this could be one of, if not the most immersive and mind-blowing games announced for the PSVR as of yet.

HQ

Fated - Fated lets you take a horse and carriage through a Fable-esque world, allowing you to meet and interact with characters as you play.

Final Approach - This strategy game turns your room into an airport, and lets you manage and look over its goings on. It looks like an interesting game that certainly offers something unique.

Final Fantasy XIV - The MMO is coming to PlayStation VR as well.

Futuridium VR - Set to release alongside another Futuridium game with VR capabilities, this one is a space shooter that sees you avoiding obstacles and has you blasting at others through a vast set of courses and levels.

The Gallery: Six Elements - Not much has been shown of this game, but it looks like a puzzle exploration game with a very unique aesthetic, and it will be interesting to see what the final product is like.

Gang Beasts - The wacky indie fighting game that has been popular on PC and consoles is getting a PSVR port, but it will be interesting to see how VR will be implemented into the game.

HQ

Gary the Gull - This odd but funny game sees the player talking and interacting with a seagull named Gary. Need we say more?

Get Even - Get Even is a trippy-looking FPS that, if done well, could be an extremely intense VR shooter experience. We haven't seen too much on the game yet but it sounds interesting to say the least.

GNOG - We aren't entirely sure what this game will bring us, but it looks like a pretty adventure game with beautiful visuals and an awesome soundtrack.

Godling - A god game that lets the player control whatever they want in a miniature garden setting.

Golem - You are a bedridden girl who's able to controll golems of different sizes and explore a fascinating fantasy world. With ex-Halo and Infamous developers behind the helm you can consider us interested.

Gran Turismo Sport - As expected, Gran Turismo is getting a VR edition, and it will undoubtedly be one of the premium racing experiences available in VR.

Harmonix Music VR - This is less of a game, more of a VR music visualizer. It takes any music you put in to the game and makes a unique visualizer depending on the tune.

Headmaster - A football aiming game where you are to try and head different kinds of balls into specific points of a goal on a football field. It gets progressively more difficult thanks to obstacles, ball variations and such. .

Hyper Void - A space piloting and shooter game. Think Starfox, but more surreal and with bullet-hell elements.

Job Simulator - We've already seen plenty of footage of Job Simulator so we know what to expect from this game. It 'simulates' the life of an office worker, letting the player do what he wants in a small office space.

HQ

Joysound VR - Not much has been revealed about this title, but it looks to be a karaoke game that employs a VR headset somehow.

Jurassic Encounter - This game places you straight into a prehistoric, hostile world and lets you look around and encounter various prehistoric creatures.

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes - This game has been seeing lots of coverage recently on YouTube and Twitch, and is a popular bomb defusal game where teamwork with a third party is key. One of you will be wearing the headset and seeing the bomb, while the others must give instructions from a bomb defusal manual.

Kitchen - You find yourself tied to a chair in a dirty old kitchen. We won't say any more in fear of spoiler, but lets just say that this is one of the reasons why we fear people might die of a heart attack in VR.

Loading Human - This upcoming VR adventure game holds a lot of promise, and it looks like there will be a plethora of different things to do. It is not certain what the game will exclusively be about, but it looks like we will have quite the adventure on our hands.

Megaton Rainfall - In this indie first-person superhero game, you control a superhero off to save the world from a number of threats across a large city and more.

Mind: Path to Thalamus - This game has been out since 2014, but the fact it is getting a PSVR port is very good news. The game is visually very pretty, and its story might translate in a nice way to VR as well.

Mortal Blitz VR - This title looks like a DOOM-esque shooter with old-styled visuals and a suitably over-the-top gameplay style.

Omega Agent - Initially a mobile game designed for the Samsung Gear, this one looks like it will translate nicely into PlayStation VR. The game sees the player strapping on a jetpack and flying around an open world city in an attempt to graduate and become the ultimate spy.

Paranormal Activity VR - Set in the same universe as the Paranormal Activity films, this horrifying game seems to be in the same vein as P.T, or the aforementioned Allison Road. The game is no doubt scary, and we look forward to seeing if it holds up for more than a few minutes on a show floor.

Pollen - A first-person exploration game that puts you on the surface of the planet Titan. This game looks beautiful, and it seems like it carries a narrative in a similar vein to that of Alien: Isolation, albeit with some more puzzle elements.

HQ

Project CARS - Slightly Mad's excellent racing sim is getting the VR treatement, and should be appearing on PSVR at some point.

Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin - Set in-between the first and second iterations of the main series of Psychonauts, not much has been shown of the Rhombus of Ruin, apart from that it will be PSVR exclusive, so we're excited to hear more in the coming months.

QUBE - This first person indie puzzler has been out on PC for a while, but it would make a welcome addition to the PS4's lineup. The fact that it's getting VR support is an even bigger bonus, as the game is well suited for virtual reality.

Rez Infinite - This is one of the most interesting games for PSVR, and we can't wait until it finally drops. A remaster of the original Rhythm-based rail shooter, it will hopefully be a dazzling experience to play in virtual reality - along with a great soundtrack to listen to.

HQ

RIGS - Mech shooters have always been an exciting experience, but a first-person mech-based VR shooter, that lets you play against other players in a fast-paced environment, well that sounds extremely fun and potentially super competitive, and we can't wait to see where it goes.

Robinson: the Journey - It's a given that Crytek were going to enter into the VR industry with something big. They were one of the first companies to come out with a VR demo, named Back to Dinosaur Island, and it contributed to the growth of the VR market. They are already developing a rock-climbing game for Oculus Rift named The Climb, and they also announced sometime last year that Back to Dinosaur Island would be made into a full-blown VR game. Named Robinson: The Journey, we haven't seen much of the game aside from a few trailers. But who doesn't want to immerse themselves into a dinosaur-filled world?

HQ

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood - Set in the same world as Until Dawn, this game promises frights in all shapes and sizes, and looks to be quite surreal as well. It should be a fast-paced, arcade style shooter set in a theme park, and it will hopefully be a roller coaster ride for the players.

PlayStation VR Worlds - is a collection of five different VR experiences that have all been built from the ground up exclusively for the PSVR headset. We're talking the much talked about The London Heist. You're a gangster undertaking an audacious robbery and then trying to make your escape. In Into The Deep you're a deep sea diver that'll experience what it's like when something goes horribly wrong. Want some more speed? Then how about feeling what Luge is like in VR Luge? Danger Ball is a futuristic sport where you use your head to strike and spin the ball in a fast paced game of life and death. Finally we have Scavenger's Odyssey. In this sci-fi adventure you play as an alien treasure hunter. With your agile craft you can leap huge distances, climb walls, hurl debris with your Scavenger beam, and pummel alien critters with your twin pulse cannons.

HQ

Snow - This beautiful Early Access skiing game has a ways to go before it's ready for release on PC, but it would make for an amazing VR game if they manage to pull it off. It's a surprisingly relaxing game, and having it in the PSVR line-up is a great idea to contrast all the horror games coming to the console.

Star Wars Battlefront VR Experience - This one is bound to be spectacular. The new Star Wars Battlefront game is already stunningly beautiful, and playing with a VR headset should and could blow you away. If they pull it off you'll never want to stop playing.

SuperHyperCube - Developed as a PSVR-exclusive, the game requires you to fit Tetris-styled shapes through a wall by moving it to fit through the wall before they collide.

Surgeon Simulator - The popular wacky game that puts you in the role of a doctor performing surgery has been converted to many consoles and has received lots of add-ons, but given that they've been experimenting with virtual reality for some time, the VR edition is probably going to be the definitive version, and you'll really be put into the shoes of an amateur surgeon.

Tekken 7 - It comes as a bit of a surprise that this game is coming to PlayStation VR, and we aren't too sure how it'll work, but nonetheless we look forward to beating up our friends with more immersion than ever.

The Assembly - In The Assembly, a mysterious organisation has been experimenting outside the eyes of the government or regulation. As the protagonist, you are invited to become a part of the future at the Assembly, and you will be forced to make choices that will transform the fates of whole nations.

HQ

The Deep - A unique looking game that puts you at the bottom of the ocean. You will be at the mercy of what lies down in the depths, and this game promises to be a horrifyingly immersive experience.

The Hum: Abductions - Another Unreal Engine 4 survival horror game, this one is once again beautiful, and will most likely be an astoundingly creepy experience that sees you dealing with an unknown alien entity.

The Mars 2030 Experience - Endorsed by NASA themselves, this is being created in an effort to increase public interest in a real-life manned mission to Mars - what better way to do so than have people go there in VR? It will also eventually have a multiplayer component that will see you and your friends exploring the Red Planet together.

The Modern Zombie Taxi Co. - This extremely wacky looking title puts you in the shoes of a human taxi driver escorting cartoony zombies to their desired destinations. It looks like a hilariously fun take on Crazy Taxi, and VR will only serve to make it more silly.

The Occasional Encounter - Not much at all on this game, but the name alone invites some speculation as to what it would be. At least the reveal teased some kind of dating aspect.

The Playroom VR - It was to be expected that the Playstation VR would come with a party game or two, and this one will see unique couch-based interactions where one person wearing the headset will play through a collection of mini games with controller wielding friends.

HQ

Thumper - Another PSVR exclusive, Thumper is a trippy looking rhythm action game that sees players controlling a 'space beetle' and moving at breakneck speeds towards their goal.

Thunderbird - This game is an immersive-looking adventure puzzle offering that will put you at the top of a mountain and into an ancient tomb-like cave system. It looks beautiful and makes brilliant use of VR and its features.

Trackmania Turbo - The popular arcade racing game series that sees you driving at super-fast speeds through insane user-created courses is back, this time with VR functionality. This game will undoubtedly leave you dizzy as you zip around the courses.

Vector 36 - Vector 36 is a physics-based racer that will put the player in the pilot's seat of a Star Wars pod-racer style craft, and sees you flying through many different courses on the terra-formed surface of Mars. There will no doubt be some crazy tracks in store for us.

VEV: Viva Ex Vivo - A very unique-looking title, VEV puts you in the position of a microscopic lifeform as you traverse through a great many different universes, trying to survive and get past the dangers you will face.

Visage - Another fantastic looking horror experience set in a house. It takes inspiration from titles like P.T. One thing of particular note in this game is the sound - it is so eerily quiet it sets you on edge. With all these brilliant-looking horror titles coming to the platform, PSVR is going to be a must-have for horror fans.

VizionEck - An FPS with an extremely unique visual style, we aren't really sure what to expect, and whether or not it'll be worth picking up. It certainly looks like it could be a bit of fun, but we'll have to wait and see.

War Thunder - The ever popular dogfighting and tank MMO will be coming to PlayStation VR, and that is very good news. Warthunder is one of the more enjoyable plane and tank sims out there, and it should work fantastically with VR.

HQ

Wayward Sky - A third-person adventure that features a pretty, Pixar-esque art-style, Wayward Sky looks to be a story-heavy experience where the protagonist, Bess, must rescue her father from a mysterious flying fortress.

White Day - A Korean horror game based in a school, it follows a more traditional horror style that sees the player hiding from various unknown entities.

World of Diving - Already released for PC, this exploration game is a more light-hearted experience than The Deep, and lets the player roam around the ocean depths. It looks immersive and you can even explore with friends in multiplayer.

World War Toons - A happy looking, cartoony third-person shooter with a similar style to that of Team Fortress 2 or Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, this game looks like a good bit of arcadey fun and mayhem.

Xing: The Land Beyond - A lovely looking first-person puzzler that has an eastern-style aesthetic. It promises to be a fun and challenging experience that will play similarly to games like Myst.

Speculation

Well there we have it. A lot of the games heading to Playstation VR. However, there are still lots of big-name studios that are confirmed to be working with PlayStation VR in some form or another, and we haven't heard anything from many of them in terms of what they could be working on.

From Software are probably one of the most surprising studios that we've heard are working with PSVR, and it leads us to question whether or not a Dark Souls game would work well with VR - and how much harder and more terrifying it'd be.

Another studio working with PlayStation VR that surprised us is Avalanche Studios, the devs of the Just Cause series. A Just Cause title in virtual reality would be absolutely amazing if they could pull it off; being able wreak havoc as Rico across a massive environment would be an experience and a half, so we really hope something is in the works from them.

Techland are also confirmed to be working on something to do with PSVR, which gets us excited about a potential VR-compatible version of Dying Light - and there's definitely some hope, as the PC version of the game has bare-bones Oculus Rift compatibility.

Then we have No Man's Sky. Have you noticed how both Sony and Hello Games always give vague answers when asked about the possibility of a VR version? A little galaxy exploring birdie told us there's a reason for this...
